Message from the President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev
President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev
‘Since the establishment of diplomatic relations between our two countries, Kazakhstan and China have reached considerable results in bilateral economic cooperation. The volume of mutual trade reached $24 billion last year. Thanks to common efforts, various mechanisms of coordination have been formed and are now successfully functioning. Among them are the ‘Kazakh-Chinese Cooperation Committee’ and ongoing regular meetings between governments’.
‘In recent years, we have created a considerable legal framework to regulate the further development of our bilateral cooperation. One example of our successful investment cooperation has been the construction of the Kazakhstan-China oil pipeline, the ‘Sarybulak-Zimunay’ and the ‘Beineu-Bozoy Shymkent’ gas pipelines. Currently, we are reviving a new ‘Silk-Road’ and launching a long distance transport corridor: ‘Western Europe-Western China’. New roads, railways, marine terminals and logistics centers are also being established across the country’.
