Africa has metamorphosed into the ‘continent of hope’. Asian Tigers have growing appetites for Africa’s resources and markets, and the continent is creating more wealth and generating more sustained growth than at any point in its history. The world’s second-largest continent (30.2 million km² including adjacent islands) and second-most-populous continent covers over 20 percent of the earth’s total land area. Africa’s population is 1.1 billion.
